Blue Plaque replacement rededication

A replacement for Blue Plaque that was in place on the Golden Ball in Broughton has been made and paid for by the Broughton Parish Council. On Friday 5th May at 11am at the Watermill (the Gateway development on Woodplumpton Lane) the plaque will be rededicated by the Broughton Catholic Charitable Society.

The plaque was put in place to commemorate the founding of the Broughton Catholic Charitable Society Founded in this building (then the Golden Ball Hotel) for the relief of local poverty, on May 6th 1787.
